Hygiene Measures
Vaccination Policy:
While highly recommended, COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are no longer required for guests traveling with us from January 1, 2023, onward. It is your client’s responsibly to comply with specific vaccine and/or booster requirements imposed by airlines and/or authorities in the destinations visited, as well as requirements for accessing restaurants and venues, which may be more restrictive than the above. No refunds will be given if they are unable to undertake some or all of their vacation due to failure to comply with these requirements.
Future Travel Credit:
If your client has a Future Travel Credit (FTC) with one of our brands, they are able to redeem against any 2022, 2023 or 2024 tour package. Discounts of up to 15% from their original reservation will only be carried forward if a new trip is booked before December 31, 2022. The FTC is the total amount that they paid to us for their tour that was suspended due to COVID-19. That sum can be applied to any itinerary or departure of their choosing (current discounts and promotions are not combinable with the carry-forward discounts and are subject to availability on the new trip). If they choose a trip or departure that is more expensive than their FTC credit, your client is responsible for the difference in price; if the trip or departure is less expensive than the FTC credit, a new FTC will be issued for the difference.
We encourage you to check our Frequently Asked Questions for more pre-departure information and tips, including our destination guide.
If you’d like to speak to one of our Travel Specialists, give us a call or submit a CONTACT US form and we’ll be happy to rebook your client’s vacation or help answer any questions you may have.
Travel Flexibility Policy:
Our temporary change and cancellation policies have ended, and our standard policy as outlined in our Booking Conditions now applies for all reservations (including Future Travel Credit redemptions) departing January 1, 2023, onward. A penalty is applied for changes or cancellations made after the final payment has been received. Normal penalties apply for full cancellation without rebooking. Please note, airlines may impose different change policies, and if your client declines travel insurance, they are responsible for any airline cancellation penalties. Other conditions apply.

Sustainability Initiatives
Sustainability is one of Contiki’s number one priorities, and we realize that’s a loaded statement so let’s
get into some more detail about what they do to give back:
MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® (MTM) Experiences
These experiences are available on Contiki trips across the globe. The way they’re chosen is by
measuring the positive social or environmental impact they have on the communities and the planet.
That way, when you’re a part of one of Contiki’s MTM experiences, you know you’re giving back.
Carbon Neutral from January 1, 2022:
Being carbon neutral as of January 1, 2022 Contiki also has carbon offsetting solutions to all travellers.
Local community support
Contiki hires local guides and brings all travellers with them to local businesses and restaurants to
support the community.
Reducing Waste
While on a trip with Contiki, you’ll notice that they don’t have any single-use plastic on trip and they
have an incredible recycling program too!
Animal Welfare
Contiki focuses heavily on animal welfare as it’s part of their 11 sustainability goals. You won’t find any
elephant riding, or any experiences that use animals for entertainment in their itineraries. Plus, they
avoid all places that sell or eat endangered animals while on the trip.
Transport
When it comes to transportation, it’s always local with Contiki. The best part? They use energy efficient
options while on tour and their coaches are some of the best in this regard.
Accommodation
If you’re on a Contiki trip, that means you’re staying in hotels and hostels that are all run by locals. Many
of these accommodations also have great sustainability programs in place! Also, quick fun fact, the two
properties that Contiki owns will be running off 100% renewable energy as of January 1, 2022.
As a Company
Contiki invests a percentage of their revenue back into specific, carefully selected, community and
sustainability projects while educating travellers while on trip. On top of that, at home, they also host
sustainable projects for staff to take part in.

What’s Contiki’s Story?
In 1962, John Anderson, a Kiwi, led the first Contiki trip in Europe on a minibus. He was stretching the 25£ he had to see Europe & turned Contiki into what it is now. When he tried to get home to New Zealand, no one wanted his minibus & after returning to Europe the next year, Contiki Holidays was officially born. Since then, 2M+ travellers have seen the world with Contiki in 40+ countries. Contiki is now a household name synonymous with travel, adventure and exploring.
