Best Things to Do in Thailand

  • A traditional longtail boat resting on the white sandy beaches of the Phi Phi Islands

    Phi Phi Islands

Pop on a snorkel and discover the colourful corals of the Andaman Sea, weave between limestone cliffs on a kayaking adventure or hike into vibrant vegetation for a peek at long-tailed macaques. From James Bond beaches to impossibly blue waters, the Phi Phi Islands redefine paradise. With their fair share of activities, an island-hopping adventure on board a longtail boat is simply pristine.

  • Close up of the intricate details shining bright on Thailand's famed White Temple

    Wat Rong Khun

Also known as the White Temple, this ornate structure doesn't hold the historical tag like its neighbours. Brought to life in 1997 by local artist Chalermchai Kositpipa, the temple's contrast between tragic scenes, exorbitant decorations and pop culture references (yes, even Spiderman!) easily make this one of the most visually intriguing places in all of Thailand. Its sparkling white glow has to be seen to be believed!

  • Close up of one of the many Buddha statues in the Sukhothai Historical Park

    Sukhothai Historical Park

With imposing statues, reclining Buddhas and countless ruins, it's no surprise that Sukhothai Historical Park is a UNESCO-listed national treasure. Literally meaning "The Dawn of Happiness", Sukhothai signified the Golden Age of religion, architecture and monarchy in Thailand. Today this historical complex draws many visitors, especially at sunrise and sunset, when the ancient kingdom illuminates with a golden shine.

  • Aerial view of the white domes of Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat temple in the mountains of Lampang

    Lampang

From horse-drawn carriages and riverside restaurants to impressive temples and elephant conservation, Lampang is a true hidden gem of Northern Thailand. This comparatively quiet city is overshadowed by the mountainous temple of Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat. Its heavenly positioning is a sight to be seen, nestled in the jagged surroundings and rewarding visitors with 360° views of the rice-field valley below.
